A DECADE OF WORLD-CLASS JAZZ: THE JAZZ SESSIONS CELEBRATE 10 YEARS WITH A FESTIVAL OF MUSIC
The Sunshine Coast’s most beloved monthly jazz series, The Jazz Sessions, is celebrating a major
milestone – ten years of showcasing world-class jazz – with a spectacular evening of music on Saturday, August 23 at the Buderim War Memorial Hall.
Since its inception in 2015 at the intimate Bison Bar, The Jazz Sessions has brought top-tier jazz talent to the Coast, building a strong reputation for high-calibre performances by local, national, and international
artists. Despite venue changes over the years, The Jazz Sessions has continued to thrive, presenting monthly shows, boutique festivals, and large-scale events such as the Gypsy Jazz Fest and the Sunshine Coast Jazz & Brews Fest.
To mark this remarkable decade, The Jazz Sessions presents a Festival of Jazz – an evening that will reflect the diversity, energy and artistry that the series has become known for. Audiences can expect an eclectic
and thrilling programme featuring:
- The Glasshouse Country Christian College Jazz Band – Showcasing the future of jazz, these talented young musicians will open the evening with vibrant big band energy and youthful spirit.
- Camaron de la Vega Duo – A virtuosic guitarist fusing flamenco, Afro-Cuban, Latin, jazz, and world music influences into a deeply expressive and rhythmic experience. Camaron’s performance will take listeners on a unique musical journey through fiery rhythms, nostalgic melodies and soulful
harmonies. - Wil Sargisson Trio – A New Zealand-born piano prodigy, Wil made waves at the prestigious New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at just 17. Known for his dazzling technique and deep knowledge of Boogie Woogie, Harlem Stride and New Orleans R&B, Wil has played with global acts such as
The Coasters, The Platters and Australia’s own Galapagos Duck. Expect a set of brilliance, groove and masterful musicianship.
Whether you’re a longtime jazz enthusiast or new to the genre, this festival promises an unforgettable evening of music, celebration and community.
An Evening of World-Class Jazz at Buderim War Memorial Hall
Doors open 6.00 pm for 6.30 pm show.
