Neighbours Aid Op Shops Announces Grand Opening of New Minyama Store
Opening 16 March – Volunteers Needed
Neighbours Aid Op Shops is pleased to announce the grand opening of its newest store in Minyama on 16 March, marking an exciting new chapter for the organisation and the Sunshine Coast community.
The new Minyama location will officially replace the current Mooloolaba store, which will be closing as operations transition to this larger and more modern retail space.
The Minyama store is designed to offer an expanded shopping experience, with more floor space, improved layout, and a wide range of quality preloved clothing, furniture, homewares, books, toys, and unique secondhand treasures. Every purchase supports Neighbours Aid’s international projects empowering vulnerable children and communities.
Suzie Hinson, Operations Manager said the move to Minyama represents a positive step forward for both the organisation and the Sunshine Coast community.
“Our new Minyama Op Shop will allow us to offer a larger and more accessible store for customers, while continuing the important work that Neighbours Aid is known for. We want to thank our Mooloolaba community for their years of support and warmly invite everyone to join us at the new location on opening day.”
Volunteers Welcome
Neighbours Aid is actively seeking new volunteers for the Minyama store. Roles include customer service, sorting donations, merchandising, warehousing and general retail support.
No retail experience is required — just a big heart and willingness to help.
Grand Opening – Everyone Is Invited
The community is warmly invited to celebrate the opening on 16 March, explore the new store, meet the team and enjoy opening day specials.

Nambour Black Market Day brings Independent Music and Culture to the Sunshine Coast
Nambour, QLD — April 18, 2026 — Bad Habit Records, Guerrilla Booking and World Rot present Nambour Black Market Day, a one-day festival celebrating independent culture, music and community at the historic Old Ambo, 80 Howard St, Nambour. The event combines a bustling market of 40 stalls with a full live music lineup, including the final ever show by Just Say Go and a performance from Sick People Launching their new Lp.
Markets open at 8:00 AM, with bands taking the stage from 12:00 PM. Attendees can browse vintage clothes, vinyl records, toys, comics, original artwork and more while enjoying local and touring acts through the afternoon. The event is designed to spotlight grassroots creativity and give independent sellers, artists and musicians a vibrant platform in the heart of the Sunshine Coast.
The music program features a powerful mix of punk, rock and alternative acts: Just Say Go (Final Ever Show), Sick People (LP Launch), Time Peace, Bright Sun, Human Condition, Valve, Leaker, No Allegiance and Stepback. The final show from Just Say Go is expected to be a memorable moment for fans and a highlight of the day,. Just Say Go played many early shows in the halls and sports clubs around the Coast. Sick People will mark a milestone of 15 years as a band with the release of a discography lp on Bad habit Records. The record contains early demos and eps.
“Nambour Black Market Day is a love letter to DIY culture — a place where vinyl hunters, vintage lovers and live-music fans can collide, make new friends, catch up with old ones, hatch harebrained schemes, form bands, realise dreams” Aaron Borg from Bad habit says “We wanted to create a space that celebrates independent creators and gives bands a proper stage to connect with their people. The Old Ambo is the perfect backdrop: gritty, local and full of personality. Its a real nexus of exciting culture right now”
The market side features more than 40 stalls curated to offer a diverse mix of quality finds: retro fashion, collectible toys, rare vinyl, original prints and zines. Local food and drink will be available via the Ambo bar and Muffin Whole Cafe swell as the many local restaurants, cafes and bars. Don’t be scared to explore all Nambour has to offer. The event welcomes all ages; attendees are encouraged to arrive early for the best market picks and to catch the full lineup.
Tickets are available via Humanitix Stall holders can contact via the Bad habit socials or webpage.
Nambour Black Market Day aims to boost the local creative economy and create a sustainable model for future events that center independent music and grassroots makers.
